Private Mega Yacht

(2025)

This collection comprises seven bespoke artworks created for a 146-metre private mega yacht, completed in 2025. Commissioned under strict confidentiality, the project followed the owner’s acquisition of a previous yacht on which Yahya had completed a series of works, bringing his work to his attention and leading to a new commission for his own vessel. With full creative freedom granted across eleven potential locations on board, seven sites were selected for intervention, allowing each work to be developed in direct response to its architectural setting at sea.

The series is executed entirely in bronze, with each work individually conceived yet unified through a shared formal and conceptual language. Central to the collection is the exploration of Fibonacci-based geometries and natural growth patterns, including spiral formations and double-helix structures, reflecting the universal logic of expansion from a central point outward. These principles are translated into sculptural compositions through precise hand-sawn elements, engraved surfaces, and carefully calibrated proportions, creating works that feel both mathematically grounded and organically generated.

A defining feature of the series is the evolution of light as an integral material. Building on earlier mandala-inspired works, the pieces incorporate “liquid light” inserts and perforations, allowing illumination to emerge from within the structures. This approach reaches its most abstract expression in a large rectangular composition defined by micro-perforations, evoking a Milky Way-like field through a controlled constellation of light. Across the collection, the interplay of bronze, light, and shadow transforms each work into both a sculptural object and an atmospheric instrument, reinforcing a dialogue between structure, nature, and the invisible forces that shape both.
