In 2005, without fanfare or publicity, or even a sign on the shop, Yahya discreetly designed, built and opened his flagship gallery in Marrakech. Six weeks later, all the stock had sold out through word of mouth alone, and visitors began arriving from around the world to place orders, discuss projects, and commission special pieces. From the outset, the gallery was conceived as a showcase for Yahya’s work, presenting Collection ranges of accessories alongside limited-edition Creation works and one-off art pieces. Lines of lighting, furniture, decorative and architectural elements are displayed as references and can be ordered as presented or adapted to individual architectural and interior design needs.

The original space began as a single, modest shop, before gradually expanding into five interconnected spaces spanning three floors.

These were carefully joined to form a continuous journey rather than a series of rooms, allowing visitors to move fluidly through the gallery without retracing their steps. The experience was conceived as a progression from beginning to end, an exploration where each space reveals itself naturally, guiding the visitor deeper into the universe of the work. The architecture of the gallery itself became part of the narrative, shaping how the pieces are encountered, understood, and remembered.

Inside, the gallery unfolds like a curated exhibition rather than a retail space.

What is shown, when it is revealed, and how it is presented are all carefully considered. Each piece is positioned to suit its surroundings, allowing scale, material and light to be experienced in the most meaningful way. Lighting, furniture, accessories, artworks and architectural samples coexist within the same journey, alongside photographic documentation of large-scale projects and monumental sculptures that cannot be physically displayed.

Visitors to the gallery come with many different intentions.

Some arrive simply to discover a place they have heard about by reputation, others to acquire a small accessory as a memento, while many come to discuss more ambitious projects. The sales team plays a central role in this experience, acting as guides rather than salespeople, accompanying visitors through the space and explaining the evolution and breadth of the work, providing context, history, and insight without pressure to purchase.

Supporting this process is a dedicated Design Office that works closely alongside the gallery team.

Based on architectural plans, site measurements, photographs and client briefs, detailed dossiers are produced to translate ideas into form, proportion and placement. These proposals are developed in two dimensions for clarity and precision, and, where appropriate, extended into three-dimensional representations for significant artworks and sculptures, allowing clients to fully visualise complex pieces within their intended context

The gallery ultimately functions as an entry point rather than a destination in itself.

It is a place of discovery, dialogue, and understanding, offering a carefully curated journey through the universe of Yahya. More than a showroom, it operates like a living museum, where objects, images, and narratives coexist. Visitors leave not only having seen work, but having experienced a philosophy, an approach, and a world that extends far beyond the gallery walls.
