Candle Holder - Square Box (Floral)
Ref: CL-CH-SB-HSF
The Square Box Candle Holder is the original piece from which the Yahya aesthetic first emerged, marking the beginning of Yahya’s artistic journey and the discovery of hand-sawn metalwork as a sculptural language. Composed as an open-top square vessel raised on delicate feet, each of the four sides is entirely hand-sawn using intricate floral patterns that allow candlelight to illuminate the metalwork from within.
Designed exclusively for candle use, tea lights or candles are placed directly inside the piece, where the flame projects intricate patterns and shadows onto the surrounding walls, surfaces, and the table beneath. Both sculptural and functional, the Square Box Candle Holder remains one of the purest and most emblematic expressions of the Yahya aesthetic.

Nightlight Holders are conceived as simple sculptural candle vessels designed to house tea lights or small candles placed directly within the open body of the piece itself. Entirely hand-sawn and handcrafted, the open-top square or rectangular forms allow the candlelight to illuminate the intricate metalwork from within, projecting delicate patterns and shadows across surrounding walls and surfaces.
Designed to combine sculptural presence with practical functionality, the pieces remain intentionally simple to use and maintain, with candles placed directly onto the internal base and easily replaced once finished. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities and variations form part of the character and authenticity of each piece, while preserving the seamless appearance and refined craftsmanship of the hand-sawn metalwork.
All candle holders are protected using a strong interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the warmth and depth of the metal. While primarily conceived for interior use, exterior versions can also be produced upon request using specialist UV-resistant exterior-grade protective coatings adapted for outdoor environments.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a strong satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.
Exterior pieces are protected using specialist UV-resistant varnishes developed for outdoor bronze sculptures and artworks. While these finishes offer substantial long-term protection, natural weathering and gradual patination remain an inherent characteristic of the material over extended periods. Should the varnish eventually soften or wear after many years, surfaces may be gently waxed and buffed in the traditional manner used for fine leather or bronze objects.
Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface can be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
