Ceiling Light - Crystal Cascade (Floral)

Ref: L-CL-005-HSF

The Crystal Cascade Ceiling Light is a sculptural architectural lighting piece defined by its radiant floral geometry, intricate handcrafted metalwork, and atmospheric suspended crystal composition. Mounted flush against the ceiling, the upper sculptural body takes the form of a multifaceted floral ceiling plate entirely hand-sawn by master jewellers using Yahya’s signature intricate floral patterns. Concealed integrated lighting positioned within the sculptural upper section projects delicate floral light patterns outward across the ceiling in a full 360-degree composition, transforming the surrounding architectural surface into a luminous extension of the piece itself. The source of illumination remains entirely hidden, allowing the sculptural form to appear animated purely through light and shadow.

Suspended beneath the illuminated floral ceiling structure is a cascading composition of crystal spheres delicately suspended using near-invisible Kevlar suspension wires from a hand-sawn octagonal plate. Light filters softly downward through the sculptural composition, illuminating the suspended crystal elements while creating reflections, depth, and atmospheric movement throughout the space. The contrast between the intricate hand-sawn floral metalwork and the suspended luminous crystal forms creates a balance between architectural precision and ethereal lightness, giving the piece a floating sculptural presence within the room. Both sculptural and atmospheric, the Crystal Cascade Ceiling Light remains a timeless expression of handcrafted metalwork, sculptural light, crystalwork, and refined contemporary decorative design.

The Crystal Cascade Floral Ceiling Light is illuminated using ultra high-quality integrated COB (Chip-on-Board) LED systems specifically selected and engineered to produce the exceptional precision, atmospheric clarity, and luminous refinement characteristic of the Yahya collection. Unlike conventional E14, E27, or standard multi-source LED bulbs, which create diffuse and imprecise lighting effects, the COB LEDs used within these pieces function as highly concentrated and controlled singular light sources. This allows the illuminated crystal elements and intricate hand-sawn floral metalwork to project remarkably sharp and refined atmospheric patterns across surrounding ceiling and architectural surfaces. The exceptional definition and depth of these luminous projections are only achievable through the use of these specialised integrated lighting systems combined with Yahya’s handcrafted metalwork techniques.

Each Crystal Cascade Floral Ceiling Light is composed around a concealed structural ceiling plate fixed directly to the ceiling, within which the driver systems are discreetly housed and completely concealed from view behind a simple metal plate. The integrated downlight modules are carefully positioned to illuminate the suspended crystal elements, allowing the crystal forms to glow softly while creating reflections and atmospheric depth throughout the piece. Integrated within the sculptural body are additional concealed LED modules specifically positioned to project the hand-sawn floral patterns outward across surrounding ceiling surfaces and architectural space. The source of illumination itself always remains entirely hidden, preserving the purity and elegance of the overall sculptural composition. The integrated LED modules are accessible through the removable sculptural body sections, allowing a qualified electrician to service or replace the integrated LED plates should maintenance ever be required. In most cases, after many years of use, the driver itself is typically the component requiring replacement rather than the LED modules, which are supplied with long-life manufacturer guarantees of approximately five years under normal operating conditions.

The Crystal Cascade Floral Ceiling Light can be electrified according to UK, European, or US electrical standards and may be supplied with compatible drivers and electrical configurations accordingly. Dimmable systems can equally be integrated upon request, including compatibility with protocols such as DALI, DMX, 1–10V, and other project-specific lighting control systems specified by clients or lighting consultants. Colour temperature is carefully selected according to the finish and atmosphere of each piece itself. Brass and aged bronze finishes are generally supplied at 2700K to create a warm candlelight-like glow through the crystal elements, while polished nickel silver finishes are typically supplied at 3000K for a slightly crisper and more contemporary architectural illumination. Throughout the collection, the lighting philosophy remains consistent: the source of illumination is never directly visible, and the light itself becomes an atmospheric sculptural material revealing the craftsmanship, crystalwork, textures, depth, and projection work of each piece.

Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a strong satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.

Exterior pieces are protected using specialist UV-resistant varnishes developed for outdoor bronze sculptures and artworks. While these finishes offer substantial long-term protection, natural weathering and gradual patination remain an inherent characteristic of the material over extended periods. Should the varnish eventually soften or wear after many years, surfaces may be gently waxed and buffed in the traditional manner used for fine leather or bronze objects.

Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface can be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
