Decorative Wall Art N°1
Ref: WD-DWA-001-1400
Wall Art No. 1 is a monumental triptych wall composition composed of three deeply sculptural engraved panels entirely clad in hand-engraved brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver. The intricate floral engraving radiates outward from a central point positioned within the middle panel, creating a continuous ornamental flow across the three separate compositions. The engraved metalwork extends seamlessly across the front, sides, upper, and lower surfaces of each panel, creating the impression of three monumental solid engraved metal slabs. Superimposed across the triptych is a hand-sawn Fibonacci double helix medallion constructed in layered relief, with the sculptural metal form extending approximately 15 mm outward from the engraved background surfaces. Carefully built and assembled by hand, the medallion spans across all three panels simultaneously, creating depth, shadow, and a powerful architectural focal point within the composition.
Brass, Aged Bronze Finish.
Nickel Silver, Polished Finish.
1400 x 45 x 1300 (h) mm
The artwork is supplied with an integrated concealed wall fixation system positioned on the reverse of each individual panel, allowing the triptych composition to be mounted cleanly and securely against the wall in its intended alignment. The concealed mounting brackets are designed to preserve the purity and continuity of the overall composition while ensuring straightforward installation.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a durable satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.
Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface may be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
