Wall Light - Enameled Glass Cylinder (Floral)
Ref: L-WL-019-HSF
The Enameled Glass Cylinder Wall Light is a refined sculptural lighting piece combining intricate handcrafted metalwork with soft diffused illumination and elegant material contrast. Composed around a cylindrical form suspended from an extended sculptural arm fixed to an ornate decorative backplate, the piece features intricate hand-sawn floral relief work created by master jewellers, with selected recessed areas delicately filled with white enamel to accentuate the precision and depth of the pattern before being polished by hand.
The central section combines raised floral relief metalwork with smooth frosted glass elements above and below, creating a refined contrast between texture and soft illumination. Concealed up and down lighting sources softly illuminate the frosted glass forms, producing a calm atmospheric glow while allowing the intricate craftsmanship of the central section and decorative backplate to remain visually celebrated. Both decorative and architectural, the Enameled Glass Cylinder Wall Light remains a timeless expression of handcrafted metalwork, soft sculptural light, and refined contemporary decorative design.

The enameled glass cylinder wall lights are illuminated using ultra high-quality integrated COB (Chip-on-Board) LED systems specifically selected and engineered to produce the refined atmospheric glow and precise architectural illumination characteristic of the Yahya collection. Unlike conventional E14, E27, or standard multi-source LED bulbs, which create diffuse and uncontrolled lighting effects, the COB LEDs used within these pieces function as highly concentrated and controlled singular light sources. This allows the frosted glass elements to illuminate evenly and softly while simultaneously enabling the concealed uplighting and downlighting systems to project sharply defined atmospheric light effects across surrounding architectural surfaces. The exceptional refinement of both the illuminated glass and the projected light compositions is only achievable through the use of these specialised integrated lighting systems combined with Yahya’s handcrafted metalwork techniques.
All LEDs are fully integrated and concealed within the central structural section of the wall light so that the source of illumination itself always remains entirely invisible. Each piece incorporates concealed integrated uplighting and downlighting positioned within the central metal body, allowing light to illuminate the frosted glass cylinders above and below while preserving the purity and elegance of the overall sculptural form. The integrated LED modules are accessible by carefully removing the glass sections and accessing the concealed illuminated central structure, allowing a qualified electrician to service or replace the integrated LED plates should maintenance ever be required. The driver systems are generally housed within the wall-mounted backplate to ensure straightforward accessibility and long-term maintenance. In most cases, should servicing become necessary after many years of use, the driver itself is typically the component requiring replacement rather than the LED modules, which are supplied with long-life manufacturer guarantees of approximately five years under normal operating conditions.
The enameled glass cylinder wall lights can be electrified according to UK, European, or US electrical standards and may be supplied with compatible drivers and electrical configurations accordingly. Dimmable systems can equally be integrated upon request, including compatibility with protocols such as DALI, DMX, 1–10V, and other project-specific lighting control systems specified by clients or lighting consultants. Colour temperature is carefully selected according to the finish and atmosphere of each piece. Brass and aged bronze finishes are generally supplied at 2700K to create a warm candlelight-like glow through the frosted glass, while polished nickel silver finishes are typically supplied at 3000K for a slightly crisper and more contemporary architectural illumination. Throughout the collection, the lighting philosophy remains consistent: the source of illumination is never directly visible, and the light itself becomes an atmospheric sculptural material revealing the craftsmanship, textures, glasswork, and architectural depth of each piece.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a strong satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.
Exterior pieces are protected using specialist UV-resistant varnishes developed for outdoor bronze sculptures and artworks. While these finishes offer substantial long-term protection, natural weathering and gradual patination remain an inherent characteristic of the material over extended periods. Should the varnish eventually soften or wear after many years, surfaces may be gently waxed and buffed in the traditional manner used for fine leather or bronze objects.
Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface can be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
