Private Penthouse - F.Z.
Marrakesh, Morocco ( 2024 )
This exceptional private penthouse occupies the highest level of the Four Seasons Marrakech and is the largest residence within the property. Offering unobstructed panoramic views across the city towards the Atlas Mountains, the penthouse unfolds across multiple levels with expansive interior spaces and a series of sky terraces at varying heights. The interior architecture establishes a continuous dialogue between inside and outside, framing light, landscape, and horizon as integral elements of the living experience.
The interior design of the penthouse was commissioned by the client to Eric Kuster, with Yahya entrusted to conceive and execute all lighting installations and sculptural artworks throughout the residence. From the moment of entry, bespoke artworks, ceiling compositions, and architectural lighting elements define the circulation spaces, creating a layered visual rhythm. A monumental 3.5‑metre mandala anchors one of the principal interiors, while cascading stainless‑steel ‘Liquid Light’ cylinders descend through the stairwell, animating the vertical volume with movement and reflection.
Throughout the penthouse, Yahya developed a wide range of bespoke pieces including wall compositions, hand‑sawn floral lighting elements, contemporary micro‑perforated installations, and sculptural floor and terrace lighting. Lotus sculptures punctuate the pool terraces, while carefully composed groupings of wall lights transform corridors into immersive art sequences. Bedrooms, terraces, and outdoor living areas were each treated individually, resulting in a cohesive yet varied journey where light, artwork, and architecture combine to shape an elevated residential experience.
