Decorative Wall Art N°17

Ref: WD-DWA-017

Decorative Wall Art No. 17 is a sculptural wall composition composed around a deeply textured metal surface inspired by traditional shagreen and galuchat finishes. Mounted onto a substantial wooden structure entirely clad in either brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver, the finely hammered metal surface creates a richly textured architectural background across the composition. Positioned centrally within the piece is a raised Ottoman Tugra constructed in layered hand-sawn relief and elevated approximately 15 mm from the textured surface, creating depth, shadow, and sculptural contrast across the composition. The entire artwork is enclosed within a simple flat architectural metal frame that reinforces the geometric restraint of the piece while allowing the sculptural imperial calligraphic emblem to emerge as the central focal point.

Brass, Aged Bronze Finish.

Nickel Silver, Polished Finish.

1200 x 40 x 1200  (h) mm

The artwork is supplied with an integrated concealed wall fixation system positioned on the reverse of the piece, allowing it to float slightly away from the wall while remaining cleanly and securely mounted in its intended orientation. The concealed mounting brackets are designed to preserve the purity of the composition while ensuring straightforward installation.

Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a durable satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.

Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface may be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
