Mirror N°2
Ref: WD-M-002
Mirror No. 2 is a monumental architectural mirror composition defined by deeply engraved ornamental metalwork and sculptural relief detailing. Executed in either brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver, the broad surrounding frame is entirely hand-engraved by master artisans with intricate floral ornamentation extending continuously around the composition. Integrated rhythmically throughout the engraved surface are raised Fibonacci medallions mounted in sculptural relief, creating depth, shadow, and material contrast across the architectural frame. In the aged bronze finish, the recessed engraved surfaces are patinated to a deep dark bronze tone while the raised medallions are finished in a lighter bronze patination, producing a refined two-tone effect that accentuates the richness and depth of the handcrafted detailing. The composition is enclosed within finely profiled inner and outer metal borders surrounding the central mirrored surface, reinforcing the monumentality, balance, and sculptural elegance of the piece.

The mirror is designed for clean and secure wall installation through an integrated concealed fixation system positioned within the reverse of the frame. The construction of the piece allows it to be mounted either vertically or horizontally, with dedicated concealed fixing points incorporated for both orientations. The assembly also allows straightforward access to the mirrored surface from behind, enabling the mirror itself to be removed and replaced if required.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a durable satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.
Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface may be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Mirror surfaces should be cleaned carefully using appropriate non-abrasive glass-cleaning products applied to a soft cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the artwork. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
