Wall Light - Glass Cylinder (Floral)

Ref: L-WL-018-HSF

The Glass Cylinder Floral Wall Light is a refined decorative lighting piece combining soft diffused illumination with intricate engraved metalwork and elegant architectural balance. Composed around a frosted glass cylinder suspended from an ornate sculptural support, the piece is framed by a richly engraved floral backplate entirely crafted by master artisans, creating the impression of an illuminated artwork suspended upon the wall.

Concealed integrated lighting softly illuminates the frosted glass cylinder while simultaneously projecting light back onto the engraved floral surface behind, revealing the depth, texture, and refinement of the decorative metalwork itself. The interaction between the calm glow of the frosted glass and the illuminated engraved backplate creates a warm atmospheric presence that is both decorative and architectural. Timeless and refined, the Glass Cylinder Floral Wall Light remains an elegant expression of handcrafted metalwork, sculptural light, and contemporary decorative design.

The Glass Cylinder Floral Wall Light is illuminated using ultra high-quality integrated COB (Chip-on-Board) LED systems specifically selected and engineered to produce the refined atmospheric glow and precise architectural illumination characteristic of the Yahya collection. Unlike conventional E14, E27, or standard multi-source LED bulbs, which create diffuse and uncontrolled lighting effects, the COB LEDs used within these pieces function as highly concentrated and controlled singular light sources. This allows the engraved decorative backplate and illuminated frosted glass cylinder to produce a soft, refined luminous atmosphere while maintaining exceptional clarity and elegance. The exceptional refinement of the illuminated glass and surrounding atmospheric glow is only achievable through the use of these specialised integrated lighting systems combined with Yahya’s handcrafted metalwork techniques.

Each Glass Cylinder Floral Wall Light is composed around a decorative engraved backplate fixed directly to the wall, from which a sculptural protruding metal support section extends outward to support the illuminated frosted glass cylinder. Unlike other models within the collection, the driver systems are not housed within the wall-mounted backplate itself. Instead, both the integrated LED module and the driver are discreetly housed together within the lower concealed metal support structure beneath the glass cylinder. The source of illumination always remains entirely hidden, allowing the illuminated glass form to appear pure, sculptural, and atmospheric. Access to both the integrated LED module and the driver is achieved by carefully removing the frosted glass cylinder, allowing a qualified electrician to easily service or replace the internal lighting components should maintenance ever be required. In most cases, after many years of use, the driver itself is typically the component requiring replacement rather than the LED module, which is supplied with a long-life manufacturer guarantee of approximately five years under normal operating conditions.

The Glass Cylinder Floral Wall Light can be electrified according to UK, European, or US electrical standards and may be supplied with compatible drivers and electrical configurations accordingly. Dimmable systems can equally be integrated upon request, including compatibility with protocols such as DALI, DMX, 1–10V, and other project-specific lighting control systems specified by clients or lighting consultants. Colour temperature is carefully selected according to the finish and atmosphere of each piece itself. Brass and aged bronze finishes are generally supplied at 2700K to create a warm candlelight-like glow through the frosted glass, while polished nickel silver finishes are typically supplied at 3000K for a slightly crisper and more contemporary architectural illumination. Throughout the collection, the lighting philosophy remains consistent: the source of illumination is never directly visible, and the light itself becomes an atmospheric sculptural material revealing the craftsmanship, textures, glasswork, and architectural depth of each piece.

Our brass pieces are hand-finished and aged to a rich bronze patination, then protected using a strong satin interior varnish designed to preserve the finish while maintaining the natural depth and warmth of the metal. For regular care, pieces should simply be dusted using a soft dry cloth without water or abrasive cleaning products. Over time, as with all living materials, the finish may naturally deepen and evolve in tone, developing an increasingly antique character that forms part of the beauty of aged bronze and brass.

Exterior pieces are protected using specialist UV-resistant varnishes developed for outdoor bronze sculptures and artworks. While these finishes offer substantial long-term protection, natural weathering and gradual patination remain an inherent characteristic of the material over extended periods. Should the varnish eventually soften or wear after many years, surfaces may be gently waxed and buffed in the traditional manner used for fine leather or bronze objects.

Polished nickel silver is not an electroplated finish but a solid material that may naturally soften slightly over time through handling and exposure. As with traditional silver objects, the surface can be restored using standard silver polishes widely available in hardware stores, or through traditional methods such as gentle lemon-based cleaning. Microfibre cloths are recommended for routine care, while abrasive materials and scratching should be avoided. Due to the entirely handmade nature of the work, subtle artisanal irregularities, variations, and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
