Private Foundation

Casablanca, Morocco ( 2025 )

The headquarters of a private foundation in Casablanca was conceived as a contemporary architectural statement, located in the exclusive Anfa district and designed to embody modernity, discretion, and elegance. Arrival unfolds within a sunken forecourt, where a vast roof plane appears to float above the space, supported by six monumental illuminated stainless-steel columns, each over six metres high. These micro-perforated columns define the threshold of the building, framing a dramatic open-air volume that opens on one side toward a landscaped sunken garden and expansive views of the ocean beyond.

Vehicles arrive and pause between the columns, where the entrance to the headquarters is discreetly set behind them. From this point, the architecture reveals its dual orientation: turning toward the building leads guests through the glass doors into the interior, while looking back across the forecourt opens a visual axis toward the garden and the sea. The columns function not only as sculptural elements, but as spatial markers, mediating between arrival, landscape, and architecture, and establishing a powerful sense of suspension, balance, and anticipation.

Inside, the experience unfolds around a dramatic triple-height lobby that forms the architectural heart of the headquarters. Suspended above the reception area, a monumental dragon sculpture floats within the vertical volume, acting as a central visual anchor as guests arrive and gather below. Sculptural staircases rise through the space, animated by a cascade of ten luminous globes in hand-sawn floral metalwork that descend through the void, creating a continuous composition of light, shadow, and movement. Throughout the building, bespoke works were integrated across both public and private spaces, including custom artworks for conference rooms, sculptural calligraphic cylinders for the client’s private office, and architectural screens that structure circulation and privacy, uniting art, lighting, and architecture into a cohesive contemporary language.
