The Glass Dome Floral Pendant is a refined architectural lighting design that combines hand-blown frosted glass with Yahya's signature hand-sawn and hand-engraved floral metalwork. The composition is centred around a softly curved frosted glass dome suspended beneath a richly detailed floral band, creating a harmonious balance between lightness, transparency, and craftsmanship. Above, a sculptural tapered crown in hand-sawn floral metalwork rises towards the suspension chain, giving the pendant its distinctive silhouette and elegant vertical proportion. Illuminated through multiple concealed lighting systems, the pendant creates a layered interplay of ambient light and decorative projection, transforming both the fixture itself and the surrounding architecture. The pendant is suspended from a structural ceiling fixation plate concealed behind a decorative ceiling canopy. The electrical connections, transformers, and drivers are housed within the upper structure, allowing convenient access for maintenance whilst remaining completely hidden from view.
The composition incorporates a hand-blown frosted glass dome positioned beneath a hand-sawn and hand-engraved floral metal band. Above, a sculptural tapered crown in matching floral metalwork forms the upper section of the pendant and conceals elements of the lighting system whilst contributing to the overall architectural composition. Access to the lighting systems is provided through concealed fixing systems integrated within the decorative structure, allowing straightforward maintenance and lamp replacement.
The lighting system incorporates three independent light sources. The first illuminates the frosted glass dome, creating a soft and comfortable ambient glow. The second illuminates the decorative floral band, enhancing the richness of the hand-sawn metalwork and creating subtle architectural illumination. The third illuminates the upper floral crown, projecting intricate floral patterns onto surrounding walls and ceilings whilst creating the distinctive decorative atmosphere for which the piece is known. The Glass Dome Floral Pendant is available in multiple standard sizes, with bespoke dimensions available upon request. Exterior versions may also be specified with IP67-rated electrical components and specialist UV-resistant protective coating systems where required.
The brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver surfaces should be lightly dusted using a soft dry cloth or microfibre cloth. Abrasive products, aggressive cleaning materials, and excessive moisture should be avoided in order to preserve the integrity of the finish.
The hand-blown frosted glass dome should be cleaned periodically using a soft lint-free cloth and a suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner. Care should be taken to avoid contact between aggressive cleaning products and adjacent metal finishes. Abrasive pads, polishing compounds, or products that may alter the frosted surface should never be used on the glass.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished, aged to a rich bronze patination, and protected with a durable lacquer system. Interior versions utilise a specialist interior lacquer, whilst exterior versions receive a UV-resistant protective coating developed specifically for outdoor environments. Polished nickel silver may be maintained using a quality silver polish or traditional lemon-based cleaning methods where required. Subtle variations and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
