The Glass Disc Drum Pendant is a sophisticated architectural lighting design that combines the delicacy of hand-sawn metalwork with the richness and depth of bronze-tinted glass. At its centre sits a sculptural drum-shaped body, entirely hand-sawn and hand-engraved with Yahya's signature floral motifs, incorporating a raised decorative medallion that projects elegantly from the surrounding metalwork and creates depth, relief, and visual refinement within the composition. Suspended beneath a large bronze-tinted glass disc, the pendant appears to float effortlessly in space, creating a striking contrast between the intricate craftsmanship of the metalwork and the reflective transparency of the glass. The combination of decorative projection and warm architectural illumination creates a refined and atmospheric presence, making the piece particularly suited to bedrooms, living spaces, reception areas, hospitality environments, and sophisticated contemporary interiors. The pendant is suspended from a structural ceiling fixation plate concealed behind a decorative ceiling canopy. The electrical connections and drivers are housed within the canopy, allowing convenient access for maintenance whilst remaining completely hidden from view.
The composition incorporates a hand-sawn and hand-engraved drum-shaped body with a raised decorative medallion positioned beneath a large bronze-tinted glass disc. The glass element is mounted within a concealed structural framework designed to preserve the visual lightness of the composition whilst ensuring long-term stability. Access to the lighting systems is provided through concealed fixing systems integrated within the decorative body, allowing straightforward maintenance and lamp replacement.
The lighting system incorporates two independent light sources. The first illuminates the hand-sawn floral metalwork internally, projecting subtle decorative patterns onto surrounding architectural surfaces. The second illuminates the bronze-tinted glass disc, creating a warm ambient glow that enhances the overall composition and provides balanced architectural illumination. The Glass Disc Drum Pendant is available in multiple standard sizes, with bespoke dimensions available upon request. Exterior versions may also be specified with IP67-rated electrical components and specialist UV-resistant protective coating systems where required.
The brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver surfaces should be lightly dusted using a soft dry cloth or microfibre cloth. Abrasive products, aggressive cleaning materials, and excessive moisture should be avoided in order to preserve the integrity of the finish.
The bronze-tinted glass disc should be cleaned periodically using a soft lint-free cloth and a suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner. Care should be taken to avoid contact between aggressive cleaning products and adjacent metal finishes. Abrasive pads, polishing compounds, or products that may mark or affect the glass surface should never be used.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished, aged to a rich bronze patination, and protected with a durable lacquer system. Interior versions utilise a specialist interior lacquer, whilst exterior versions receive a UV-resistant protective coating developed specifically for outdoor environments. Polished nickel silver may be maintained using a quality silver polish or traditional lemon-based cleaning methods where required. Subtle variations and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
