The Cylindrical Drum Pendant is a refined architectural lighting design that combines Yahya's signature hand-sawn floral metalwork with softly illuminated frosted glass. Defined by its clean cylindrical form, the pendant is composed of an intricately hand-sawn and hand-engraved outer drum surrounding a concealed frosted glass tube that diffuses and softens the light source. A raised decorative medallion projects elegantly from the underside of the composition, providing a sculptural focal point whilst reinforcing the architectural language of the piece. Illuminated through multiple concealed lighting systems, the pendant creates a balance between decorative projection and comfortable ambient illumination, transforming both the fixture itself and the surrounding architecture. The pendant is suspended from a structural ceiling fixation plate concealed behind a decorative ceiling canopy. The electrical connections, transformers, and drivers are housed within the upper structure, allowing convenient access for maintenance whilst remaining completely hidden from view.
The composition incorporates a hand-sawn and hand-engraved cylindrical metal body surrounding a frosted glass diffuser tube that conceals the lighting system and provides soft, balanced illumination. A raised decorative medallion positioned beneath the drum creates a refined architectural focal point whilst completing the composition. Access to the lighting systems is provided through concealed fixing systems integrated within the decorative structure, allowing straightforward maintenance and lamp replacement.
The lighting system incorporates multiple independent light sources. The first illuminates the frosted glass diffuser internally, creating a soft and comfortable ambient glow. The second illuminates the hand-sawn floral metalwork, projecting intricate decorative patterns onto surrounding architectural surfaces and ceilings. The Cylindrical Drum Pendant is available in multiple standard sizes, with bespoke dimensions available upon request. Exterior versions may also be specified with IP67-rated electrical components and specialist UV-resistant protective coating systems where required.
The brass with aged bronze finish or polished nickel silver surfaces should be lightly dusted using a soft dry cloth or microfibre cloth. Abrasive products, aggressive cleaning materials, and excessive moisture should be avoided in order to preserve the integrity of the finish.
The frosted glass diffuser should be cleaned periodically using a soft lint-free cloth and a suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner. Care should be taken to avoid contact between aggressive cleaning products and adjacent metal finishes. Abrasive pads, polishing compounds, or products that may alter the frosted surface should never be used on the glass.
Our brass pieces are hand-finished, aged to a rich bronze patination, and protected with a durable lacquer system. Interior versions utilise a specialist interior lacquer, whilst exterior versions receive a UV-resistant protective coating developed specifically for outdoor environments. Polished nickel silver may be maintained using a quality silver polish or traditional lemon-based cleaning methods where required. Subtle variations and traces of hand craftsmanship form an intentional part of the character and authenticity of each piece.
